I just have one episode left to watch of Planet Earth II, and I’ll have to wait a few more years to see another series of these great nature documentaries. Each of the six episodes were dedicated to a particular habitat: islands, mountains, jungles, forests, grasslands and cities. Planet Earth (or Blue Planet, same deal), it’s the crème de la crème of animals + nature reportage, in which each scene is breathtaking, and I’m not sure if I have to cry out of emotion in front of the beauty of the landscapes or the magic of Evolution – Nature does crazy stuff, or if I should be on the side of the predator, or the prey, in hunting scenes. I’m bored in advance – that’s pure prejudice – when it’s a bird or insect sequence, but they win me over because there’s no boring insects or birds in Planet Earth. I prefer mammals though, big cats, elephants. Anyways, watch Planet Earth II, it’s on the US Netflix, and for those of you in Europe I’m sure you’ll find it easily since it’s a BBC show.
If I start this article by talking about an animal documentary, you may think that my week has been pretty slow. You’re right. It’s winter in Boston, where nights are cold, and the homes of our friends beyond the Charles River seem pretty far away. Still, I biked around a couple of days last week, it wasn’t too bad. January is a low season for the touring industry I’m in. It gives me more time, on one hand for introspection – and on another hand to prepare some long term projects. I’m talking about it with a work coach (it’s just a teaser, I’ll talk about it more in another article). I also have a lot to say about the Whole 30 the so-called it’s not a diet but a reset. I still have 10 more days to go!
